Auditions
Southern Crescent ChoraleMembership in the Southern Crescent Chorale (SCC) is by audition only. Auditions are held annually in May, June, or July, by appointment only. Exact audition dates are published on this site and announced in local newspapers each May.
The audition takes approximately 10 minutes and includes the following components:
• Singing “My Country ‘tis of Thee”
• Singing scales
• Tonal memory exercise
• Sight reading
Selection decisions are made by the SCC Artistic Director based on the candidate’s individual capabilities as well as vocal balance and blend considerations.
The Chorale rehearses in Fayetteville each Monday evening during September through May. Rehearsals are from 7:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.

• Your full name and voice part
• Your complete mailing address
• Your email address
• Your telephone number (home, work or cell)
• A brief summary of any training and/or prior singing experience
• How you heard about SCC
Someone may contact you during the season if we have unanticipated openings. Otherwise, we will alert you in May of the exact audition dates and ask you to call us at 770.716.1231 to schedule an audition appointment.
SCC PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS
The Chorale rehearses in Fayetteville each Monday evening during September through May. Rehearsals are from 7:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. Regular attendance at rehearsals and participation in all concerts is expected.
Once accepted into the Southern Crescent Chorale, singers pay an annual participation fee of $125. Singers also provide their own concert attire (black tuxedo for men, black uniform dress for ladies). The cost of the ladies’ outfit is approximately $70.
