This year, Southern Crescent Chorale is honored to designate Southwest Christian Care Hope House as the beneficiary of our annual Benefit Concert, Sweets & Serenades, presented in collaboration with the Whitewater High School Chorale.
Hope House serves families of children with medically complex and special needs by offering compassionate education and respite services—support that allows children to thrive while giving families essential peace of mind. Through professionally staffed programs grounded in dignity, love, and inclusion, Hope House creates a safe environment where children are encouraged to learn, grow, and experience joy, and where families are reminded that they are not alone.
About the Hope House Programs
Caring for a child with complex medical or developmental needs can be both deeply rewarding and profoundly demanding. The Hope House Programs of Southwest Christian Care exist to support these families through thoughtful, high-quality services designed with both children and caregivers in mind.
Weekend Respite Program
The Weekend Respite Program provides specialized care and enriching activities for children with medically complex needs. In a nurturing and structured environment, children are given opportunities to play, learn, and connect—while families are afforded the invaluable gift of rest, renewal, and reassurance that their child is in capable and compassionate hands.
Educational Services at Ms. Gussie’s Place
At Ms. Gussie’s Place, children receive individualized attention in an inclusive educational setting tailored to their unique needs. Through purposeful activities and attentive care, children are supported academically, socially, and emotionally—allowing families to trust that their loved ones are not only cared for, but truly known and valued.
Lives Touched by Hope House
Families consistently describe Hope House not simply as a program, but as an extension of their family.
Parents share stories of milestones once thought impossible—first movements, first responses to music, moments of connection that bring renewed hope. Over years and even decades, Hope House has become a place where children are celebrated, progress is honored, and families are embraced without cost, restriction, or barrier.
For decades, Southern Crescent Chorale’s Benefit Concerts have raised tens of thousands of dollars in support of vital children’s organizations. These concerts reflect our belief that music can be both an artistic offering and a means of tangible service.
